International Impacts
The events that took place in Iran not only effected there way of living but also effect the rest of the world. There where many international impacts of the revolution as it was such an important event during the 20th century. One of the biggest impacts was that Iran's international relations went down hill fast. This was due to the Anti-west nature of the revolution and the closure of the oil trade to many of the western countries.
The revolution had a massive impact on America. It was a highly critical period of time for the American - Iran relations. For the United States, the Iranian crisis was a wasteful diversion, conflicting with real American interests and intentions. America's biggest interest in the area was the oil reserves under Iran worth billions of dollars which they were now cut off from. This also had an impact on countries like the United Kingdom and Russia. It was not a good period of time for international trade.
Since the revolution Islamic Law has become more commonly known around the world. It has been linked to most of the modern day terrorism. To this day new Islamic groups are forming up and trying to achieve similar things to the revolution such as a new Islamic State, hence the new terrorist group ISIS. The revolution is said to be one of the biggest changing points of the world during 20th century as its impacts can still be seen today.
